Why do hand-decorated cookies seem so pricey?
Making and decorating your custom cookies is a very labor-intensive process taking many hours over three days. We're price competitive with other bakers (click for comps) even though we use high-quality ingredients which are much more costly. For example, with our gluten-free offerings, regular flour costs less than .50/lb. while gluten-free flour averages over $3.00/lb. Regular butter costs around $3.50 compared to our organic, dairy-free butter at $8.00/lb. Also, the price of materials (like cutters, piping bags, gel colors, etc.), ingredients, and packaging are on the rise, like everything else these days! Last time we calculated, we make around $3.10/hour -- it's the love of baking and the creative art of decorating that keeps us going -- not the riches to be gained, lol!
My child has celiac disease. Are your gluten-free cookies safe?
We have autoimmune issues ourselves mandating a gluten-free lifestyle in our kitchen and home. Our decades of knowledge of purchasing and handling gluten-free ingredients, coupled with rigorous attention to avoiding cross-contamination, produces baked goods truly free of gluten. While we cannot make any guarantees for legal reasons, our gluten-free products should never have been exposed to a trace of gluten while in our possession.
Can you ship my cookies overseas?
Unfortunately, we are a small operation and are only able to ship within the continental U.S. This also ensures maximum freshness.
